URBAN HEAT ISLAND EFFECT REDUCTION

Urban heat island effect results in temperature discrepancy between cities and their surrounding rural areas. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says that temperatures in U.S. cities can get up to 10 degrees higher than their surrounding areas. It results in an increased demand for air conditioning in the summer, which means higher energy costs.
